Pay for the flight you just flew.
Technique Only does not offer financing and does not work with a lending partner. Training here is paid for as it happens — lesson by lesson — which is why there is no programme price to borrow against. For students who want help closing a gap, aviation scholarships are real money and are handed out every year by organisations that want more pilots in the world.
Technique Only · over the Rochester area One way to pay, and it's the simple one.
There is no lender, no application and no package to sign. You pay for the session you just flew, and that is the whole arrangement.
Pay as you fly
The way almost everyone here pays: each lesson settled as it is flown, with no package bought in advance.
- No programme to commit to and nothing to finance
- The pace, and therefore the monthly cost, stays yours to set
Sport Pilot as a lower first step
A shorter certificate is a smaller bill. Some students earn Sport Pilot first and build on it later.
- Fewer required hours than the Private certificate
- The training already flown still counts toward what comes next
Scholarships & grants
AOPA, EAA, the Ninety-Nines and several New England aviation groups award flight-training scholarships every year, and most go under-applied for.
- Deadlines cluster in winter and spring — the applications take real time
- Ask us where to start and which ones fit the certificate you are after
Scholarship terms, amounts and eligibility are set by the organisations awarding them, not by Technique Only.
You don't carry all the fuel at once.
A long trip is flown in legs, with a stop at the end of each one. Paying for a rating works the same way.
The cheapest dollar is the one you don't spend.
Nothing here is borrowed, so nothing hides the total. These four levers are the ones that actually move it.
- 1
Frequency
How often you fly is the #1 cost driver. Consistent lessons shorten the path — long gaps mean re-learning and more hours.
- 2
Preparation
Showing up ready — ground study done, procedures chair-flown — makes every paid hour count.
- 3
The certificate
Sport Pilot needs fewer hours than Private, and Instrument or Commercial are longer projects again. The destination sets the size of the bill.
- 4
Medical & materials
Plan for a medical certificate where the certificate requires one, plus books, a headset, and FAA exam fees.
